'Berkley Breathed's Opus - Sunday Comics 2003-2008' The Library Of American Comics, IDW Publishing 2012, 270 pages Written and Illustrated by Berkeley Breathed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloom_County http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opus_the_penguin BEAUTIFUL digital reproduction of the Opus Sunday newspaper strip. Each page in the book contains one Sunday strip, which is usually three lines of three panels (although sometimes they are more abstract in design). The coloring for this volume is just outstanding.
...Len, as someone who once worked with Berke, I appreciate the postings. Now I can retire my long-out-of-print dog-eared copies of these collections! Do you by chance have either of the "Academia Waltz" ones? There were two, one was a collection made and sold by the "Daily Texan" right after Berke got his first syndication contract, while the other was printed about three years later by a different printing house. The former one has a week of strips that Berke did as "filler" strips just in case he caught this particular flu that was running rampant around campus - something like 75% of students and almost 90% of the faculty caught it and were down for almost a week in most cases, which really screwed with midterms on both sides of the academic dance floor. I should know, as I caught the damn thing! I don't have a copy of either anymore, as a former roommate ran off with them when we quit sharing an apartment together, and the bitch still claims 30 years later she doesn't have them. The cunt.
Either way, thanks again for the ten volumes you have posted. Only thing missing is an MP3 of the "Billy and the Boingers" flexidisk, from what I can't hear...:)
